Equine
Assisted Psychotherapy
(EAP)
EAP is a recognized
and effective professional psychotherapy used in the treatment
of Post Traumatic Stress, ADHD, Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Substance
Abuse, Conduct and Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Eating Disorders,
etc. EAP is solution-oriented and experiential
in nature. Participants take part in ground activities with horses,
and then process feelings, behaviors, and patterns related to
the experience. |
Equine Assisted Learning
(EAL)
EAL is a non-traditional approach to learning
which involves hands-on ground activities with horses. EAL is
a form of experiential learning occurring when a person is interacting
with their environment, including the people, animals and situations.
By taking part in structured activities, participants are better
able to reflect on what takes place and apply it to other areas
of their lives. Because EAL is a solution-oriented
model, participants discover ways to “think outside of the box.” |
